Welcome First-Timers

New to Scouting? Start here.

You don't need a Scouting background, camping experience, or any gear to start. Most of our parents didn't have any of it either.

What is Cub Scouts?

Kids work through fun adventures: building things, learning knots and first aid, cooking, science experiments, and outdoor exploration to earn their rank badge each school year.

Pack & Den Meetings

The whole pack meets together, then breaks out into age-specific grade dens (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, AOL). Your child learns teamwork with peers their own age.

Transparent Annual Dues

About $215 total for the entire year ($130 Scouting America / Chief Seattle Council + $85 Pack 496 dues). Covers all badge kits, Derby cars, and banquet meals. Financial aid is always available.

Adventure & Traditions

  • πŸ•οΈ
    Family Campouts & Day Hikes:

Family-friendly campouts at Camp Pigott or Camp Edward and trail hikes around Cougar Mountain and Lake Boren.

  • 🀝
