A Welcoming Evening for Every Kid
Every meeting is the whole pack — all the kids, kindergarten through 5th grade, plus parents and a stray sibling or two — so a visiting family blends right in. Walk in unannounced like most families do, or send us a note and someone will watch for you.
1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The Cub Scout Ranks
Cub Scouting is organized by grade level. Each rank earns age-appropriate adventure loops and pins throughout the year.
Lion
Introduction to scouting through active play, simple games, and parent-child teamwork. Lions wear a casual blue T-shirt.
Tiger
Exploring family traditions, neighborhood discovery walks, basic outdoor safety, and earning adventure belt loops with parent partners.
Wolf
Learning knot tying, beginner first aid, hiking trails, physical fitness, and building things from wood and recycled materials.
Bear
Pocketknife safety (Whittling Chip), outdoor cooking, discovering local wildlife and constellations, and building Pinewood Derby racers.
Webelos
"We'll Be Loyal Scouts" — Transitioning into youth-led patrol leadership, campfire cooking, and advanced outdoor survival skills.
Arrow of Light
The highest rank in Cub Scouting. Scouts prepare for transition to Scouts BSA troops through overnight camping and leadership badges.
Safety First: Two-Deep Leadership
At Pack 496, your child's physical and emotional safety is our top priority. We strictly follow Scouting America's comprehensive Youth Protection policies:
- Two-Deep Leadership: A minimum of two registered, trained adult leaders are present at all meetings and scouting activities at all times. A Scout is never alone with one adult.
- Background Checks: Every registered pack leader undergoes a thorough criminal background check before serving.
- Mandatory YPT Training: All adult leaders complete rigorous, certified Youth Protection Training renewed every two years.
